Citizen Notification Service (CNS) is an internet technology company that provides web-based, non-emergency and emergency notification services for federal, state, and local governments, universities and school districts to share information directly with the public via email, SMS, and phone.
Developed by the makers of CrimeWeb.net, the CNS service
can reach thousands of people in minutes
with one easy-to-send notification that is transmitted
simultaneously to each subscriber’s cell phone, pager, PDA,
and e-mail accounts. Our company has three main products:
Citizen Notification Service (CNS) which allows cities to
communicate with their residents, Student Notification Service (SNS) which allows
universities to communicate with students, parents and faculty, and Crimeweb.net,
which meets the communication needs of law enforcement agencies.
CNS was founded as Crimeweb Network in 1997 by a Texas police
Captain while at the FBI National Academy. The
initial product, Crimeweb.net, helps prevent crime,
apprehend criminals, locate missing persons, and disseminate emergency
information. The core technology behind
Crimeweb has been granted one patent and has several others pending. Over time the
core technology has grown and expanded to become a full and robust notification
framework.
CNS products are currently in use by over 75 cities and schools across the US.
